The company was established in 1869 by Christian Raffel's great-grandfather Hermann Raffel and in the same year - on 21st. January - he was registered by the "Municipality of Copenhagen" (see document on the right).
In its long existence the company has experienced both ups and downs, and since 1986 it has been run by Christian Raffel.
In 2008 a partial generational change took place regarding sales and service of maritime life-saving equipment. Today the aim of the company is to run agencies, rentals, financing, and investments.
The agencies are mainly focused in activities within all sorts of railway equipment, as well as accomodations ladders, pilot ladders and gangways for the maritime sector.
